A Small History

Paneer Pasanda originated in North India, particularly in the royal kitchens of the Mughal era. The word “Pasanda” comes from the Urdu/Hindi word meaning “favorite” or “preferred.” Traditionally, the dish was made using premium cuts of meat. Over time, vegetarian versions became popular, replacing meat with paneer while retaining the luxurious gravy and rich flavors. Today, Paneer Pasanda is a favorite dish served in Indian restaurants and at festive gatherings.
